- Pale conjunctivae (50% iron deficiency)
- Dermatitis herpetiformis (blistering rash on extensor surfaces)

- Anti-endomysial antibodies
- Negative after gluten-free diet
- Tissue transglutaminase
- Negative after gluten-free diet
- Antigliadin antibodies
- Antireticulin antibodies
- Endoscopy and duodenal biopsy
- Full blood count
- Anaemia (macrocytic or microcytic)
